Success for Lynsey at Island Games!
Acclaim Director, Lynsey Elliott, has returned from the Island Games in Gibraltar with a bronze medal, which she won while representing the Isle of Man in the Olympic distance triathlon.
Lynsey was delighted with her performance on what she described as a “brutal course” finishing in third place behind athletes from the Faroe Islands and Guernsey in a field of 31 competitors. Speaking after the event, Lynsey commented, “This is my biggest achievement yet in triathlon. I’m especially delighted with being able to count towards the medal table for the Isle of Man. The Island games is always a very tough standard and since I’m racing girls over 20 years my junior the bronze medal means even more to me. It’s definitely been worth all of the early-morning training sessions before work and I love having the opportunity to compete at this level”.
Lynsey, who is the current English National Champion in her age group, is now looking forward to the ITU World Championships in Lausanne on August bank holiday weekend. She’ll be racing for Great Britain in the event and has high hopes for a top GB slot.
