Acclaim is a leading corporate services provider, offering class leading levels of service across a broad range of disciplines. We are licensed by the Isle of Man Financial Services Authority as a provider of Trust and Corporate Service business.

Acclaim is Independently owned by its management team. The directors have a hands-on approach, dealing directly with clients. We believe that this business model provides significantly increased levels of service and is a key benefit to our clients.

The Directors

Brian Byers

Brian is a Chartered Accountant (a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales). Brian has worked in the Isle of Man offshore and financial sectors since 1990. He trained with KPMG, where he spent six years, and became part of the management team. Brian left KPMG to join one of his clients, an insurance management company, where he became finance director. He set up his own consulting and accounting practice in 1999, and since then has held executive directorships with numerous companies operating in various sectors including, among others, property management, equity investment, hotel management and aviation. Away from work, Brian makes the most of the Manx countryside by cycling and walking. He is a keen motoring enthusiast, and regularly attends races and shows both on and off the Island.

Lynsey Elliott

A fellow of the Chartered Institute of Certified Accountants, Lynsey graduated with an honours degree in mathematics from the University of Hull, before commencing accountancy training with the Ernst & Young in 1996. She has built up a broad range of experience and expertise in almost two decades working within the Isle of Man’s financial sector. After working within audit and private banking, Lynsey went on to establish a successful accounting and consulting operation, before joining forces with Brian Byers to launch Acclaim. Outside of the office, Lynsey enjoys spending time with her two young children. She is a keen swimmer, having competed at UK national level, and is currently English national triathlon champion in her age group.

Sandra Georgeson

Sandra is a Chartered Secretary (a Member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators), a Trust and Estate Practitioner (a Member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioner) and a Member of the Institute of Directors. After successfully completing a Higher National Diploma in Business & Finance, she joined KPMG’s International Tax and Fiduciary Department where she spent 5 years before leaving to join one of the larger Law firms to assist the Senior Partner to run the corporate services business. Sandra was appointed Managing Director until the acquisition of the business in 2013 where she continued to serve as Client Director until her appointment with Acclaim. Sandra has, in the past, served on the board of the Association of Corporate Service Providers and on the local Branch Council of ICSA. Away from work Sandra enjoys family time and keeps fit by running and cycling.

Martin Elliott

Martin is a Chartered Accountant (a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales). Having graduated with an honours degree in Chemistry, via studies in both the UK and France, he undertook ACA training with KPMG. After qualifying, Martin left KPMG to join one of his clients in the world of eCommerce. In 2001 he joined the Island’s insurance and pensions regulator, where he spent almost ten years building a detailed understanding of the Island’s regulatory and compliance framework that proves invaluable in his current role. Away from work, Martin is a keen footballer and occasional marathon runner.
